Light Travel With Young Snake

Okay, this is more hypothetical than anything, but I'm still curious.;)

I have a 'situation' where once a week or so I see someone, who is sorta becoming a friend. The situation here in simple terms is this. I'm getting my snake from Rich Tuesday. Obviously she's way to young to travel at all past her journey to me:eek:, but I was wondering at what age is it 'okay' for a snake (providing they arent easily stressed, I understand that depends on the snake) to take say, a 10-15min drive to a quiet place (provided the temperatures are adequate) where I'd be able to let my friend see her, maybe (me, myself) hold her for a little bit while there. Then other wise she would most likely be put back into her travel container for the rest of the hour that I'm there. The container would either be in my lap, or directly next to me and have a hide inside.

Again, this is hypothetical. I would certainly not do something like this for at least the first month or so after getting her. Then again, I also wouldnt try something like this without checking with more experienced/ knowledgeble owners. I was just wondering if there's a weight or age that one can start thinking about whether or not the snake would do alright on a little 'hello, nice to meet you' trip. ;)

PS- If I were to ever do this, it would be a 'one-time' thing, just to show my friend, who also just to mention would not be able to come over and see her.

I'm sorry lol, when I read this it seems kinda sketchy, but the 'place' isnt necissarily something I think people would need to know because it's a bit of a story to explain.

If you travel with your snake just know there are risks like escape, overheating, and regurges. Always make sure your snake hasn't eaten in 3-4 days and your car is cool without the container in direct sunlight. Also make sure the container is well ventilated, and sealed escape proof. Honestly why can't this "friend" just come see the snake? You may have trouble getting the snake to feed being moved to and from its home and really if this person is that close by invite them to meet snakey instead:)

Wow! Jail, Nursing home, Mental Hospital or the Hood come to mind...

That the advice given and take care.

Oh come on Lenny you can't bring snakes to the first three options you named, though taking your snake to the hood is a great way to avoid being robbed;)

Yeah, I guess you're right. I think I'll just wind up bringing pictures with me, possibly put a video up online.
The reason she cant 'come to my house' is basically...ok, she's sort of my therapist, and when I even think about putting the full situation in writing ('maybe my snake could come with me to an appointment' blabla) it probably sounds amusing. Even to those who have gone to therapist and found one that actually cares about you rather than the whole, 'okay, times up. You going to write me a check now, or send it in the mail?' situation. Which I've been in too many times before.

So yea. I dont really think asking my therapist to visit my house and meet my snake is something I want to do just because even though having her meet my snake is a little strange to begin with, the 'over my house' thing is a little more strange. I don't even know if therapists are allowed to do that.

Anyway, I didnt want to say it because it'll probably make some people laugh. Especially those who never went to a therapist/ met a 'good hearted' one lol. Oh well. And it wasn't my idea either, it was actually my therapist's haha :). But thank you for the advice, and all. I'll be keeping my snakey at home ;).

well Im sure I may get crusified for this but all my friends are snake people and when I go I somethimes bring whiskey.. I am aware of the tempatures and and stress.. I never go too close after feeding I wait til his lump goes aware and he has made a snakey poop... I have been doing this with him since bout a week or so after I had gotten him.. he never gave me problems.. he rathers being in someones hands rather than in his viv or his carring container which is a decent size rubbermaid container with substrate water a hide and is properly ventilated... I have actually brought him out for 2 days.. I had a problem at home and felt he wasnt safe so I did like a mother packed some bottled water an extra hide and a heat pad with me.. and tended to him.. I got back home on thursday which is feeding day and he ate with no prob bout 10 mins after i got home.. never regurged or anything... that was actually the first time he decided 1 pinky isnt enough... so Idk... I bring whiskey to some place with that I have first observed.. I dont think its crazy or silly that u want to bring him to meet your therapist.. he will be part of your life and thats usually what u talk bout there.. I think honestly idk..

Yea, I'm rather new to snakes and all, but I think it depends on the snake. Some are more skidish and easily stressed (like people I guess). Whiskey sounds like a pretty laid back snake, which is cool :). I guess I'll see how the personality of my new friend developes. I think I'll wait until she's at least a good size and judge on whether or not she seems to have the kind of temperment that could handle that sort of trip. I'll stay on the safest side I can thou lol.
Thank you for understanding about the therapy thing too. Even I find it a bit strange but, idk. My therapist is one of the rare few that really cares, and only takes your money because she has to make a living somehow.

no prob.. ur lucky u found a good one.. my cuz went to one when he was going thru a divorce he wasnt their 5 mins and the jerk told him he was bipolar and put him on all kinds of scripts... well come to find out later the wife knew the dr and.. yea well u know how it goes.. u can pm if u want
