who on this forum feeds there baby corn live pinkie mice, i just got a baby that has been getting fed live pinkies from petsmart, should i keep him on live pinkies or switch to thawed? Also what would be cheaper?

Thawed pinky's are much more convenient, easier to find, and cheaper. Usually they don't have a problem switching over to F/T pink's either.

I think a lot of larger breeders feed live pinks just because it is easier- no thawing involved! I bought a baby snake who had only been fed live until I got her at three months of age. She never noticed the difference when I gave her FT. FT- it's what's for dinner!!

I have a young MBK that will only take live, at the moment. I sure hope I can break her of that soon, though...

I agree with that. I feed live pinks. This is only because I breed my own, they are harmless, and don't pose a threat to anything. ONLY Pinks I do this with though.

Ok, so a live pink can't hurt your snake, but if you have the convenience of just opening the freezer and thawing one out, vs having to stop by the snake store once every five days to buy one- who wouldn't want to feed FT?

were i live pinkies are 99 cents alive, plus taxe, frozen are 12 dollars for 6, so im saving like 6 dollars i think but im not good at math.

I just picked up large mice for my adult at a reptile show for .50 each. They had the price of pinks, but I didn't even look, but I'm sure they were probably near that price also.

Where in Florida are you? There is a reptile show coming up in Tampa soon - pinks will probably be around $.35 each at the show.
