Live Plants

Yvette

I am Yvette.
What kind of live plants can you have with corn snakes?
I went to a zoo today and a boa had Devil's Ivy. I have one of those plants in my house, can I use it in my snake's tank?

You can do what ever you what it is your snake and your tank. However, you may want to google that plant and make sure it is not toxic to the snake.

I think that's what Yvette meant by "What plants can i use"

Type "devils Ivy poisonous" into Google, it is a poisonous plant. To snakes? I don't know.. So it seems to me like Fatman gave perfect advice, regardless what anyone says you should always do your own fact checking..

Here's a funny thing:

For a plant to be poisonous, the animal has to INGEST it. What needs to be researched is if it has some sort of toxin that can be passed on via physical contact, either by touching the surface (poison ivy, nettles) or by coming into contact with the sap.

No no no no , I was not trying to be mean.. And yes for a plant to be poisonous it would have to be ingested, except for in the cases of things that emit oils like pine and cedar.. None the less, I personally would not gamble my snakes life on it for the purposes of looks.

PS. I just get excited backing the Fatman lol
