In what must rank as one of the longest waits ever for a replay, Austin Stacks and Laune Rangers will renew their rivalry in Fitzgerald Stadium at 1.30pm. The original fixture took place on Sunday, September 8 when the two sides played out an 0-12 to 2-6 draw after extra-time at the same venue, but was forced to take a backseat while the SFC was run off.

The replay was originally fixed for Sunday, but has been brought forward by 24 hours to avoid a clash with Dr Crokes’ Munster Club SFC quarter-final against Castlehaven at nearby Lewis Road.

The County Intermediate Football Championship Final replay between Austin Stacks and Laune Rangers will now be played on Saturday, November 9 in order to avoid a clash with Dr Crokes’ Munster Senior Club quarter-final with Castlehaven.

With the newly crowned county champions pencilled in to face Castlehaven in Lewis Road on Sunday, November 10, it wouldn’t have been feasible to play the intermediate decider at essentially the same time across the street in the Fitzgerald Stadium.

As a result the intermediate replay moves to Saturday, at the same venue as originally fixed, with a 1.30pm throw-in time. As of yet no throw-in time has been confirmed from the Dr Crokes v Castlehaven contest on the Sunday.
