Local Pet shop lost my new hatchling...

Last week I went into my local mom and pop pet store, they had brand new hatchlings that were from their in store breeders. They had several different morphs from Amel to Lavenders. I saw a little guy with really deep dark red, brown and black coloring and had to have him. I'm not sure of the morph, but he was so cool I didn't really care. I purchased the snake on the spot and asked if they would hold the little male for me until today, because I was leaving town over the weekend and didn't want a brand new hatchling all alone in an empty house for a long four day weekend. My wife went to the pet store this afternoon to pick up our new buddy, the lady went to the sterilite container they put him into for the weekend and he had escaped! Needless to say I am pretty disappointed. They are currently tearing their store apart looking for the snake.

That does suck, I can't imagine finding a hatchling in a pet store! Was it just yours or others who got away? I hope they find him too.

I went there tonight, they haven't found him yet. They offered to refund my money and hold him for me when they find him, offered me another corn at a reduced price, and also offered me a male female pair of Kenyan Sand Boas at a reduced price with the promise of holding the corn for me once they find him. The latter offer intrigued me, does anyone know anything about Kenyan Sand Boas or have any experience with them?

Bummer. If they didn't sell your baby, I hope that they will be able to find him/her.

Hmmm ... Can you imagine the surprise someone could get if the baby corn finds its way into an item that is purchased & taken home.

I had one. They're boring. They just sit under the substrate till its time to feed...

I don't find them boring but ... everyone is different.;)
Love mine.
Yes, they do spend a lot of time under the substrate but mine do come up, above, from time to time .. and I have one female who loves to roam around, above the substrate, rather often.
In being held, they are very calm.
Certainly, they are different, from Cornsnakes, but rewarding/intriguing in their own way.:)
