That flaky shed stuff is freaking me out. He's shed recently (like 2 weeks ago) so I'm pretty sure he's not in blue again. He was acting really weird when I was taking the picture with the flowers, every time I touched him he would jerk really suddenly. He never hissed or anything...but I don't know. He also has some weird stuff on his scutes, but I couldn't get a picture of him. It almost looks like scale rot, but it's on like one scale thingy in particular, and his viv is so dry I don't think it could be that.
To make this depressing update better he's been eating like a champ. I just feel like a bad snake mom. Any cheese for my whine? I don't even know if those white lines on his head are normal. Ugh.
Haha, I had to scroll sideways to get to the reply box!
He's a really good looking amel - his colors look a lot like my little one. I wish I could help you out with your concerns, but I just don't have enough knowledge. Sorry!
He's very pretty and I'm hoping to bump this up so more knowledgeable people can answer your questions about his flakes! I would recommend trying to get them a picture of his affected scoots, though. Good luck!
The flakyness might just be a minor injury. If he stuck his head in a tight spot while in his tank, he could have pulled it out too hard/fast and tore a little bit of skin. That happened to my corn once. It will most likely resolve itself within his next shed.
Anyway, he is really pretty! I love amels. Definitely my favorite morph, even if they aren't the newest of rarest.
