Looking for breeder recommendations - miami phase?

Hi everyone

I live in the UK but am looking for a female miami of realllllly good quality - I have a lovely male coming off Toyah/Stramash snakes but would really like to make a breeding project of miami motleys/stripes (and poss. adding tessera eventually as my friend's been lucky enough to import a male). I was wondering if anyone could recommend a UK breeder? I have contacted Carol/Low Belly Reptiles in case I can't find a UK breeder (and because her miamis are the quality that I am looking for). A lot of snakes sold as miamis over here are dull carolinas - very pretty in their own right but not the bright ruby red and grey/silver that I really want from one.

If anyone could help me I'd much appreciate it!

Thanks

Kathy

It's too bad you're in the UK. I don't know enough about the UK/Eurozone breeders. If import/export is an option, definitely go with Carol/Low Belly Reptiles. I've seen her snakes in person at the Daytona show and they are all the pictures indicate, absolutely wonderful!

I can't help here, but if you do import some snakes, make sure you buy a lot with different parents and such so breeding is worth while and you don't end up with lots of inbreeding.

Thanks for the replies everyone - when I hear back from Carol I think I will discuss things with her.

On a different note, I breed fancy rats currently and responsible inbreeding is absolutely imperative for the health of the lines. I expect some inbreeding would be useful in the snakes too, although to rest anyone's mind at ease, I have a delicious male miami coming to me from Toyah at Stramash Snakes.

Thanks ever so much for the help xx

Sorry to bump this up again, but I am assuming Carol and her exporter are v. busy as I haven't heard back from them. If anyone has any other contacts I would very much appreciate them. Thanks ever so much for your help so far. I have managed to reserve a lovely candycane female that I am hoping will help kick things off in the meantime.

Don't give up on Carol, she had a huge event at work this weekend, plus a reptile show!!

Carol has some great miamis. I'm the proud owner of one her Miami snakes. He's a joy to have around, great disposition, gorgeous colors.... I know she's been busy (like Nanci said) so just hang in there and don't give up on her. :D It's well worth the wait, trust me!

Here's the Miami I got from Carol:

They are all so amazing! I spoke to Carol a few days ago and she's recommended I wait for next year's run to get the best of the best. I'm just waiting for her importer Patrick to get back in touch but I heard he's away on business. Just want to get on the top of the waiting list!!

In the meantime I have a reptile show to go to today and I'm picking up my miami male from Toyah, who is bred from LBR snake/s from what I know. Rather unimaginatively I've called him Horatio. :D I also have a lush candycane to collect who might help contribute to the line if she's good enough.

Thanks for all your help! xx
