Looking for Poop

Hi everyone! My 2 girls have been burrowing nonstop in their newly discovered substrate, Sani-bark. They were previously on fake carpet for their first four years. My question is, do i have to go digging for poop with a small rake? Do snakes leave poop out in the open and leave it to be cleaned? Or do they bury it?

Out with the rake, then. I guess that's one advantage that carpet has, but i won't switch back-they're having too much fun!

I found your thread title more inspiring than the average poop-thread title:

You may be looking for poop in all the wrong places.
Looking depends on what the substrate is.
The finer the bark, the scarcer the traces
of- that-- cloacal soup…
Sanibark is dense and crap may stay on top.
Aspen is loose, and feces just might drop--
lower- than-- you’re looking for poop...

I agree with redneck, on top, under, it doesn't matter to them but I have found the majority of mine do it around the edges of the viv, so that's where I start looking.
You say your girls are 4 yrs old? Then you should be able to smell when they've been :) and then you can go looking for it if it isn't visible ;)

I get a rubber glove and a diaper sack to do the poop patrol :)

Hope that helps,

Ok...but i warn you it's quality craftsmanship at its best!
