I came home a few weeks ago and went to jump in the shower when I was scared half to death by this guy sitting in my tub:

My best guess is that someone lost him in my apartment complex and he crawled his way up into my bathtub. I put him (it?) in a shoebox after doing a quick Google search to determine that he couldn't kill me. I put up a few signs in the building but got no response. So, I decided "what the heck" and kept him.

I'm going to make a separate thread in the Feeding section, help me out if you can. :)

Hello & welcome! You'll certainly have one of the most interesting stories on how you got introduced to snakes! LOL! Feel free to ask any of your questions! And the search option at the top of the forum is very helpful too. Here is a thread on most of the common terms used on this site.

And since this snake was unexpected, this thread might help you, if you haven't already seen it.

I'll go check out the Feeding part for your question & see if it's anything I can help with.

Hello there and Welcome :D What a lucky person you are, that snake should be named Destiny as it seems the only likely explanation for it turning up in your tub! Corn snakes are wonderful pets, easy to care for and fun to have. This site is a wonderful resource, but I highly recommend Kathy & Billy Love's book "A comprehensive owners guide to corn snakes" as an additional source of corn snake info.

Let us know if you have any questions. The chat function on here is a quick way to get info. and a cool place to socialize with us snake loving ppl :D

P.S Read this thread about a snake we lost in our apartment and found after a month missing lol

Beautiful snakie! Welcome. You'll find lots of good stuff--and even better people--here.

Knowing my luck, I'd end up with a mamba or something in my bathtub :).

What a lovely snake!

There seems to be something in the air at the moment as I've just taken in a foundling too!

Congratulations, and enjoy being a snake keeper!

Someone else, the user above me I guess, found a corn too. An amel as well, which is just fancy talk for 'red albino', which lacks all/most black pigmentation. Normal/classic/wild/Carolina morph corns have black where yours has white.

Have fun learning how to take care of this guy. We're all here to help.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome! I've actually tentatively name the snake Jesus (hey-zoose) since I think that was the first word out of my mouth when I found him. I won't post the 2nd word. ;)
