lose scale?

OK, well I was looking at my snakes the other day when I noticed that the big scale on the tip of their nose was "coming lose" Its really hard to describe, but it looked like shed skin that just wouldn't come off. (They haven't shed in almost 2 months.

Is this the start of a shed? it was on 3 out of the 4 snakes. two of which have already shed. But it is still somewhat there. Should I raise the humidity?

I'm probably freaking out about something that is no big deal.

Has this happened to any of your snakes?

Sounds like stuck shed or maybe a little rub. My snakes sometimes rub their noses trying to escape and they get a little rough on their nose scales. Hard to say without a picture though :)

Does it look like raw skin? It should be easy to tell if its a scale or a shed.

If its a shed, raise the humidity, it will come off on its own.

If its a scale, raising the humidity is the worst thing you could do, it will get infected. If you have any doubts, without seeing a picture, I would say take it to a vet.

OK thank you all for the advise and fast responses.

It looks alot like old shed, and it feels soft, well. . . not like a scale. but. . . Like how old shed skin feels like. . .

AND another plus side, I last looked the night before the past, and today while cleaning their cages I found that it's coming off slowly. So I sprayed here with a water spray thing and she just rubbed it off on me, which was kinda gross. But now it's all good.

Thank you all again.
