Lost a baby snake

I have a corn snake that is about 18 weeks old, and he seems to have escaped. I have been away from my house due to the holidays, but I would come home on occasion to change his water. I came today to change his water and feed him, but after checking everywhere in his cage and combing through the bedding, he is nowhere to be found. I took out one of the paper towel tubes he likes to hide in and stuck a thawed pinkie inside, and set it next to a space heater, I looked everywhere in my room, but my house has so many tight spaces and he is so small that I don't know how much use searching for him will be. I could really use some more advice on how I could lure him out and get him back.

I'm sorry to hear that. Him being so small it will make it more difficult to find. Someone here said sprinkle some flour around the base boards to see if you can see some trails to at least narrow the search area down. Sorry I am not much help here but good luck.

I have used the flour trick before to get an idea of what part of the house my escapee was using. You would be surprised at the small places they can hide. You can set things along the walls, like old shoes, boots, paper towel rolls or even PVC tubes to give your snake additional hiding places. Check them daily. Block off the exterior doors to make sure the snake can't get out of the house. If you live in a cold climate, make sure to keep your house warm, or the snake may go dormant as if brumating. If you use rodent glue traps in your house make sure you pick them all up or the escapee will surely find them.
Good luck and let us know the outcome.

The pinkie didn't work, I will put some flour spots down, try some masking tape and plastic bag traps, and will stick a lot of hides around the walls. Looks like this is going to be a large endeavor.

keep checking the cage, he may have somehow been hiding in there... I've had that scare before. good luck!

Theseus found! My housemate was going through boxes in the basement and he was sitting inside one of them. So glad to have my snake back!

Not for certain, but he liked to climb on the little ledge on the top of the terrarium, and when I noticed he was missing one of the clamps was loose. I had someone staying with me at the time, and I think that they might have bumped it or knocked the clamp loose somehow, and he climbed onto the ledge and was able to force his way out. I cut off the ledge and secured the clamps tightly, so that should no longer be an issue.
