okay... this is the second time my corn has gotten out. Anyways I have no how im going to find it.:shrugs:. last time my parents happened to see it in an empty vase in their room and they caught it. The second i catch this thing though im going to put locks on the cage it cause' obviously cage clips aren't enough to keep my little brother and his friends out.

but seriously im about to explode please help:blowup:

Nanci is a good one to talk to when it comes to snakes that have gotten out, as for viv lids with clips... IMHO, they are junk... i had one and always had to keep books on top of it, i would just go with a zilla cage. They are kinda spendy but totally worth it, you can even get cable locks so they need a combo to get in the cage (so your brother can't open it)... wish i could be more help... Good luck

I have 4 (2 on the back & 2 on the front corners) & they work perfectly. I've even tried yanking on the corners in the "up" position & they are very secure. I also have a strip of strong velcro on the back & front corners for back up reinforcement. & Yes my snake has tried numerous times pushing on the lid w/ no luck!:twoguns:

I really hope you find your snakie! I would be on house patrol tearing everything a part.

I`ve experienced this problem twice. I`ve found one at shoe cabinet and the othr at night close to refrigerator. I`ve heard when snakes escape, they look for warm and dark place to hide. Good luck!!!

One of my snakes got out a while back (due to younger cousins... don't trust children!) and I found her 3 days later coming out of my closet which has the water heater in. So I think she was getting warm next to the water heater. You might try there if it is anywhere close. They also like under the fridge or dryer since they get warm. If you leave your tv or computer on a lot they may even venture to those for heat. If the snake is small and could get inside your computer it wouldn't hurt to pop it open and check to make sure.

escapee....

deffinitly try looking at night,it's when there on the hunt!! & make sure to look along the wall edges...,also look in places you dont think they'd fit...,try these too "warm or humid area's"(fridge, under cabinets, basement's,bathroom's) i've had a few escape (My own fault) & i always seem to find them in the basement or bathroom??:toiletgra

& not to get your hopes up....but one of them i found 3 months later!! & full !!

good luck!!

I am so sorry to hear about your snake. I recently found mine after four months of her missing. One person told me to put a heating pad in the middle of the room that you think they are in and leave it on over night, they said that in the morning the snake will be on there, don't know if it works cause I didn't have a heating pad. They also told me to look under the fridge and stove. I found mine outside, just curled up. GOOD LUCK and I hope you find it soon.

I dont think the middle of the room would work. Most small animals stay on the sides of room for safety. Few animals would explore to the open space. This idea could work, but id suggest it along a wall that is kind of secluded

along the wall will some kind of hide over it

WLRULES...

Along with the other great suggestions above, please check your heater/furnace area. Especially if it's an old house with that tall wall heater. Years ago I realized I'd 'lost' a garter snake and I went straight for the wall heater...sure enough, she was curled up inside. Good Luck...I hope you find it sooner rather than later.

I'm glad you found your snake.
I have to wonder about your mistrust of the clips on your viv. I have an aquarium that I bought a screen top for at Petco. It's held on by 2 clips. Even at 4' long and almost 500 grams, there is no way the snake is lifting the top. What I did need to do is use weather strip to help seal the top. The screen top had open corners that a small snake could easily fit out of. The weather strip seals the tank top to the underside of the screen top.
