Lost Snake

Hey All - Does anyone have suggestions for finding (I know, hahahaha) a baby corn snake that has escaped? Should I leave a f/t pinky on my living room floor and see if she shows up? I'm an idiot and this was all my fault. I didn't put the pin back in her lid on Sunday and noticed yesterday that she had wiggled it open. I've searched every nook and cranny in the house and of course I can't find her. She's only about 10 inches long and can probably hide just about anywhere.

My advice is keep looking. Look up. Look under everything. Look at night. Look along walls.

Hmm... Painters tape is recomended as a trap... but on a corn that little I'd be afraid of hurting it if it got stuck in tape :(

There's instructions somewhere on how to make a trap out of a pop bottle...

also, put flour down along the walls, you might be able to find "tracks" check in closets, all around her viv...

Good luck!

Thank you both very much. I will try the flour trick for sure! I totally didn't sleep last night and kept getting up and walking around hoping that I would find her. I'm a very sad snake mama today :(

I hope you find her... Don't give up... mine was missing for months. She'll likely search heat in vents... so hopefully she doesn't get into the wrong one.

Good luck. I remember too well the feeling of losing one.

Hey. Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. How to make a trap.

I made one of these and found the little guy within 15 minutes of realizing i lost him. (He'd been gone for a good 3-4 hours at this point.) Here's the whole story as well.

He's probably not far from his viv. Just out of sight. Make sure you leave him some water against the wall as well so he doesn't dehydrate.

I like the bottle trap idea a lot and will make one tonight. Since Wednesday I've scoured over and under everything in my house. She's so small and I've probably passed by her several times. Thanks again everyone for the tips  Much appreciated!!

Look everywhere--every day. That's how we managed to find our little girl when she escaped. She finally decided to hang out in a place where we had looked MANY times, previously.
