Lost snake

I am so upset!!! My new little Amel escaped last night!!!
I'm hoping he is still in my room because my bedroom door was only open for 1 hour this morning before I realized it. The crazy part is that the tank's top was still snapped down in place this morning, but he still managed to snaeak out somehow!!! This has happened to me once before with another tank and I never found the little guy! I have boobie traps set up all over (tape along the sides of walls over my carpet, crumled up paper, plastic baggie with mouse in it, a shoebox with a couple of litle holes cut into it and full of crumpled tissues on top of a heating pad, water bowl is out) Did I miss anything? I'm trying everything I can!!! This makes you so frustrated you could almost cry over it! I hope he's OK. Well thanks for letting me vent on you and if you have any ideas.....
 Monica

Check near the tank..

Look all around the tank...be meticulous. Corns tend to stay pretty close to their enclosures in most cases. Did you look thoroughly through the substrate in the tank? Sometimes corns like to burrow. Is the tank even semi raised up underneath? - try picking up the tank and see if it could possibly be curled up underneath.

Good Luck...

Justone question Monica,
What substrate do you have in your tank. I once lost a baby corn, looked high and low for it, but he hadn't even left the box he was in, must have been under the bark chips :(

I'm using shavings and I triple checked them because I didn't trust myself the first couple of times. I know just what you guys are talking about, but no luck :( . I just got him about 4 days ago and gave him his first small meal last night. It must have been just the boost he needed to make a run for it. I know if I'm going to find him my best luck will be today. For now I'm just closing off my room from the rest of the house in hopes I'll hear him while I'm sleeping. Thanks for the suggestions!

Thank you so much! I'm going to give it a try. I have scotch tape around my room, but masking tape might be able to do the trick a little better and still not harm the snake! I don't drink much soda, but I'll have to go out and buy a 2 liter bottle to use. Thanks again for the suggestion and I'll tell you how and if it all works out! :)

I found him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for all the suggestions. I ended up catching him in the tape traps that were left out! He is a little tusseled, but I think he'll be OK after a couple nights recuperation and his next shed. Thanks again guys!

I'm very new at having these little guys, but from what I've read... look up!, It it climb out of it's cage it's a good chance that it kept going up.

I am soooo relieved! I searched high and low and couldn't spot him. I searched every crease and crack and still he was nowhere, but it was finally a tape trap that got hime while I was out! I feel kinda like I lost a game of hide an go seek- I never found his hiding spot!!! :)
