Loud noises?

I always worry about being too loud or having my music too loud around Lili (amel corn, 3 mo.)
Do loud noises bother them at all?

Remember snakes hear by feeling the vibration on the ground. If your corn is agitated and trying to get out when you have the music going, perhaps turn it down and see what happens.

I just make sure I keep the bass to a minimum as the volume doesn't seem to disturb my snakes too much.

I've heard stories of snakes coming out to see what all the hubbub is about. My older snake likes to come out and bask while the video games are playing and my little one likes it when its quiet as a grave yard.

If you're really worried you can always switch to headphones.

I usually have music on in my snake room when I am working in there. Of course, I dont have the volume up as loud as I might if I would in another room of the house or in my car when I am "in concert" and my fellow drivers at the stop light can here the bass coming from my car...LOL.

I think if you enjoy your music and keep it at a reasonable volume, they will be fine. But it is a very good question. I due believe that if the vibrations are too high/loud/deep, it could cause issues. Especially with breeding stock. JMO.

I think if a noise is a constant thing, they tend to get used to the vibrations. Several of my snakes are in racks where the rest of the family is. These snakes tend to not notice we even exist, except on feeding day. We have 5 kids under the age of 13 and trust me, there is always some kind of loud noises. TVs, game systems, crying, yelling, stomping...you name it we got it. On the other hand, the snakes I have that are in a separate room where the children aren't allowed, seem to know as soon as I walk in the room and come to the front of their tanks to check me out. It's an interesting thing how they seem to learn what vibration means what.

thank you guys for the replies, I didn't really know about the vibration thing at all...

...so she can't hear me when I baby talk her *sniff

If I'm correct, humans give off pheromones when they're nervous so why should it be any different when you're being loving and affectionate? Some people say their brains are too little to have emotions and feelings but I like to think different. In her own little snakey way she knows that you won't hurt her and if you treat her with love and respect she will return the favour I think.
