Louisianna Swamp Treasure!

An obsolete oldie...
Got this little guy in with the last wholesale order! Not worth that much to anyone else, but the moment I saw him I had to have him. Labeled as nothing more than a hypo motley. I found out he is from project lines, which involved caramel <big surprise>, lol, motley and milksnake phase. :) He is absolutely at least het caramel though as one parent was a caramel mot! They hypo part confuses me. Hypo is reduction of black I know, but this one has no black as far as I can tell, but it certainly isn't amber or even close looking too it. What a fun riddle!

He looks just like a chocolate coloured OKEETEE! :) WICKED! Of course, his name is "MOCHA" :)

THANKS ROB!

He's got rather unique coloring - just like you said "chocolate okeetee". Even his background color is like latte coffee and not greyish.

You definitely must prove him out! :)

Could he be "caramel miami (or milksnake)". Don't know what one should look like but knowing what miami does to a ghost --> silver queen, I could believe this is what caramel miami looks like. :)

GORGEOUS!! Had his motley pattern been more "perfect", he would be a classic hurricane. And because he is a motley, that pattern has a hypo-ing effect on the color, hence why you're not seeing much black, but I wouldn't call him a hypo motley as he is much too dark. The color of hypo motleys leans more towards an amel look. For comparison, here is one of my hypo motleys het caramel bloodred:

Well, last night I was thinking that too, that perhaps he is a homo caramel. He is COMPLETELY unlike any other hypo motley I've brought in, and there have been about 50 or so I think...

He isn't just milksnake phase though as his belly is COMPLETELY white, so genetically that should mean motley. I am actually thinking of plugging him into my okeetee butter to see what happens. I also have some caramels het for hypo, motely, amel. But their patterns are NOTHING compared to this one.

Rob will be doing a re-breed next year and I've already said I would kill for a female just like him. I did get some sisters to this guy in with this shipment though none are quite as nice as him there are two more "chocolate" looking ones, so I may keep one of those for fun... I ABSOLUTELY think that even selectively bred, this could be something people would like to see more of ;)

I ABSOLUTELY agree with you. Your picture is pretty much exactly what every other hypo mot I've imported looks like, this one is CRAZY different. Rob is very busy, and he has so many snakes I'm sure I couldn't keep up with them either, but I have a feeling this one is not "just" a hypo motley. I'm gonna have tons of fun figuring it out and I think he's a great foundation for a selective line AT LEAST! :)

Don't you just love it when you get those snakes that put a giggle into your heart when you look at them?!?!? SO MUCH FUN!

THANKYOU, THANKYOU, THANKYOU ROB!

ps- got another surprise from Rob in the last wholesale group. He had marked one as a golddust mot, but when I looked closely... DARK EYES! He came from a golddust to golddust, so I think I've finally got one of the morphs on my wishlist, - a ULTRA caramel mot! YIPEEE!

I think your baby is beautiful. I love caramel and caramel-based morphs, and I'd have been dancing if he was in a box that came to my house! Do a progression thread, please!

Wow! When I first looked at him, I was like... Aww, he's so pretty, but now that I've looked even more closely, he is amazing! What a beautiful baby!

Wowzer!!

Definitely post some progression! If it keeps it's color as it grows and you can produce some similar babies in the future I am totally interested! I'm an okeetee freak, as well as a latte freak, so this has me really excited to see what comes of it ^_^.

HAHAH LOL :) OF COURSE he's got a big head, look how PURDY he is?!?! I'm almost leaning towards changing his name from Mocha to Purday and perhaps calling the next <if Rob graces me with another next year> Mocha...

Anyway, his head is normal size I assure you. If you look at the picture he actually has his head on top of hid body there so his head is closer to the camera than the rest of the body, thus the funny perception.

HOWEVER,

He doesn't get quite as much love and affection as my REALLY big headed "Tuna" monster! <the funny looking guy that came out of the okeetees this year> now HE is something special in a cujo-ish sort of way... lol
