Hello there everyone! I am hoping some of you might be able to help me. I have been reading these forums for months now and I am ready to get my first snake :) I am looking for a MALE lavender corn snake...really what I am looking for is the lavender type with the littlest amount of yellow, dark (not reddish) eyes, and the most pink and purple coloring as possible! I think based on reading the forums, that I am looking for an orchid or charcoal lavender corn snake...but if there is another type that sounds like the above characteristics, please let me know, I'm new to this! :)

Also, of course, I am looking for breeders who would be having this type of hatchling available in maybe the next couple weeks to a month? I would like to raise it from a baby to watch it grow :) Please let me know of anyone I could contact who you know is breeding this beautiful morph, with hatchlings soon. Thank you!!

http://iansvivarium.com/morphs/ is a great site for getting a better idea what each morph looks like. If you click Lavender it will show you only examples of morphs that contain Lav.

You are totally on the right track. If you get Hypo or Amel the eyes will be red so your right to steer clear of those. (Even though I love the dark red eyes on my Sunkissed Amaretto)

Vmsherp.com is cool (lots of details, individual pics)

Srcorns.com is cool (best selection, very involved with this site, where I got both my snakes)

Bhb doesn't care about corns like they do ball pythons, so good luck getting any questions answered (but good prices, and Brian is nice)

And the for sale section is good too on this site.

I have two lavenders, both are normals but one is very purplish and one is very peach and pink... cant wait to see the last one as he grows up...

Can't go wrong with an orchid, I have two of them (one is a hypo orchid). I've never seen an unattractive one. Steve Roylance should have some baby ones now and VMS Herp has a baby male.

DuxorW, would you mind posting pictures of your orchids so I can see the coloration please? :)

There is a breeder local to me (Jayson Rafter) who might be having orchids in a few months, so I think I am going to wait for that before I pay for shipping with someone else. Although both of those places have beautiful animals!

Here is a crappy pic I took of the orchid male as a baby. As you can see, they aren't too impressive at that age, so don't be concerned if your hatchling is kind of brownish and plain looking.

Here he is this past summer, as you can see he colored up very nicely!

A more recent photo:

They can be highly variable and they don't all have the same kind of pattern as mine.

The hypo orchid kind of looked like a little worm as a hatchling. He's about a year old now and is probably my favorite corn in my collection.

Hope that helps!

Thank you... They come in so many shades as adults so I am curious what he will turn into... I am jealous of your hypo one I think I need one of them...
