Male Or Female?

Okay, so after reading things on the sex of corn snakes I started to question whether my corn really was male. Of course, me, being the silly person I am, purchased Jake from a pet store and they told me they were unsure of his gender but thought he was male. I also read that the majority of corns purchased from pet shops are male, so I was pretty sure he was male, but now I'm not. I have two side shots and wanted to see if anyone would take a shot at guessing based on what his tail looks like. Now I know he is young, and I know this is an inaccurate method of sexing a corn, but I decided to give it a shot. I'll probably end up getting him probed by a vet, but I wanted to see if anyone had guesses before I did that. I'll try and get a few underside pics later in the day and have them hopefully posted by tonight or tomorrow, but Jake isn't cooperating for those. Anyway, here are the pics:

I hope that works, it was my first time adding pics to a thread.

I know they're not the best pics, but I'm stuck with my cell camera for now.

Anyone wanna take a guess at what gender he might be?

Thanks!

You can't tell the sex of a snake by a photo. You need to get the snake properly probed or popped.
If I had to guess, I would say it's a male.

There was a video posted in chat to watch about visually sexing a snake. I watched it, and though not acurate... based on what the video said, i believe Jake is a male. =]

You can tell the sex of a snake via a photo, but it is often inaccurate.

There is virtually no way to tell for sure from your photo's as there is no cloaca reference point. You need to take a picture of the ventral side (stomach) that clearly includes the cloaca (anus) and the remainder of the tail. Probing would be more accurate, but again is also inaccurate (but more accurate than visually). The only 100% sure fire way to sex snakes is to either visually see hemipenes exposed (males) and to see eggs getting laid (females). Anything else is just a "best guess", some being more accurate than others! :)

Okay, thanks, I'll try and get that pic up tonight. :)

Jake really isn't cooperating for these pics. He keeps squirming and jerking away. I tried talking to him, but what good would that do? He can't hear. I think I've stressed him out enough today, might try in the morning.

I think I would squirm away too if someone tried to take a pic of my goods :p

 He even hissed at me! Well, I heard a kind of hissing sound, kinda like when you let all the air out of a balloon, without the squeaking. Lmao, it sounded like hissing to me.
