Materials for securing my tank

Lurking around the corner
I bought an aquarium and screen lid separately, from different stores, and wouldn't you know they don't fit perfectly. I saw a thread where someone used weather proofing foam around the edges of the tank to make the top fit more snugly. I want to do that too, but I have no idea where to get that foam stuff from. Could it be found at Wal-Mart? Or maybe Rural King?

I need to be able to find some sometime tomorrow, so that I can fix the tank before going to pick up my baby Wednesday morning.

Thanks

PS: I tried asking these questions in the thread that the person made showing her method, but no one's looked at it... so I just made my own thread in hopes of getting quicker replies.

You can get some at the auto parts store and it has a sticky side. If you use it make sure it is stuck on carefully and your snake can not touch the sticky part.

I like velcro, it's fun. What I was going to do is use the foam stuff around the outside top of the tank to make the lid fit more snugly, and then get long velcro strips to wrap all the way around to sort of clamp down the top.

Okay, so I couldn't find the foam stuff, but I did find some felt strips that work, and I got the velcro to strap the lid down with =)

When I put the little guy in his tank this morning he spent about an hour or so cruising around, mostly on this small ledge that's at the top of the tank. It's the way that the aquarium is made... but I watched him very carefully and there's no way he can get out.

I was thinking of getting some more felt strips to put up on that ledge to even it out so he won't be able to get up there at all anymore.
