Mayday - '06 Abbott's Okeetee (Lots of pics)

Team Laura
This is Mayday's first shed with me, and boy, he is an unhappy blue boy. He had cleared totally and was in my lap, and I was watching a movie and texting... His tail was rattling on my stomach, and he was intensely watching my pinky fingers, and struck occasionally, until he realized nothing was going to happen to him... Like an hour... Good times. I had him in the bathtub, and he was all S'ed up, and slowly moving towards my hand and struck at me then too. Can't help but laugh. Sorry for so many pictures.

I let him loose on my desk, and he found a place between my organizer (blue thing) and mesh basket... I moved the basket in this picture.

Thanks for looking!

He's looking great Laura! I love those pictures of him in the basket! I wish my snakes would do cute stuff like that--but if I don't have my hand on them they are on their way out the door.

Dang Laura.. He looks awesome! I love how you laugh that he strikes at you.. He must me like you in some way.

Pictures at the Park!

Took him to a park. Mockingbird thought he was interesting, and was about four feet from me and Mayday. I threatened the bird, but she wasn't being aggressive, just really nosy.

WOW, great pics! And amazing okeetee! Congrats!!!

If Mayday doesn't like to be handled when he's blue (or cleared up and ready to shed) wouldn't it be better to just let him be? If he feels threatened and rattles it's most likely quite stressfull to him...

Yeah, that's the only day I really messed with him... I put him in the bath to soak, and then kept him out for a bit. But all of these pictures are post shed, and even then he gets an attitude. We came to an agreement the other day when he kept striking at me and eventually bit himself. He hasn't struck at me since, though he has rattled, but he didn't know it was me touching him. As soon as he figured it out, he quit.
