Meet Kinky, my Anaheim purchase!

jpccusa

Happy with this new hobby
I finally got my so desired Okeetee corn. His name is Kinky and he was born 6 weeks ago. :santa:
The Anaheim show was awesome and I met some people from here (Marsha, Jodi Garcia, Vinny and Carol). Special thanks to Carol for teaching me what a good Okeetee hatchling should look like and to Vinny for pointing out some good hatchlings amongst the bunch.
Well, meet Kinky...

First night was good. Kinky seems more curious than scared and the 4 times I entered the garage (where it stays) to check on him, he comes out of the hide to take a pick on what was going on... :p

Beautiful Okeetee! Look forward to watching progression pictures:D
Congrats, your Okeetee is beautiful :)

They must all be so astound by your Beautiful Okeetee That they are at a loss for words. Congrats ;)

lovely okeetee..

what were these pointers which characterise a 'good' okeetee then??

Oh, the pointers were to choose the darkest Okeetee available. The black and the red should almost blend all together due to the fact those colors will dilute as he matures. Also, the background (orange dots now) should be as bright as possible. Even following those tips it is still a gamble to know how it will mature. EXCITING! :D

His belly looks like piano keys! I don't think I've ever noticed that in any other corn before!

By the title of this post, I was afraid you named your snake after his physical characteristics...;) Glad that's not the case. He'll look super as an adult for sure.

So I am happy to announce Kinky ate his first meal (after I got him) yesterday! I carefully picked him up, put him on the deli cup, threw the warm pinky in there, and closed everything up fast, making sure to cover the cup with a towel and turning of the light.
3 hours later, I went back to check and the pinky was gone! :D
I was soooooo apprehensive!

Too kewl! I'd love to see how to tell the difference between a normal hatchling and an Okeetee hatchling. THAT would be useful information.

Kinky is kewl!

Congrats!
