Meet my new puppy!

Mice! They taste so nice!
On Saturday I took Rosie to meet her new little brother, an 8-month old Bedlington terrier called Bertie who was being rehabbed, after having had run into trouble in his first two homes as he didn't get on with being pulled about by small children. It was love at first sniff for Bertie and Rosie, so now I get double the joy!

I am so jealous, beddies are one of my favorite breeds, but hard to find here. He's beautiful, congrats on your new friend! :D

Bertie's settled in now, there were some dominance issues with him growling at and snapping at my sons (21 and 22, not little 'uns) but I gave them the lowdown on applying NILF to help him understand his place in the pack, which is working well. Rosie tolerates him very well and they play together just fine....unless he oversteps the mark, in which case he gets a sharp reminder that she is the boss!
I'm having issues with resizing files to show photos on here, (new computer, new software!) so I'll have to update when I sort them out

I took the dogs down to the river today, and luckily the tide was in so no mud to wash off afterwards. Bertie tried to chase the Brent geese that were sitting in the water 10 feet from shore, but had to give up when he realised he's not a very good swimmer!

They're so adorable and looks like they are both just loving life!
Thanks. I try to make their lives more interesting by varying our walks, or just altering the route to the same places. I'm lucky to have safe open areas for them to run withing easy walking distance (I did about 6 miles on the round trip today) I haven't taken Bertie on a train yet, Rosie is used to it so that's on the agenda soon. Bertie pulls on the lead more than I like, so if he doesn't stop soon he'll get a halti so he can't keep towing Rosie around on the brace lead!

It was quite hot this morning, so a bit of puddle paddling was apparently needed!

There's been a lot of rain this week, so no photos from taking the dogs out until todays lovely sunny morning meant a trip to the river. As a bonus the tide was fully in so the dogs had a good swim without getting muddy. Then while they were investigating a causeway, a rowing boat came in and scared the pants off them! The boat owner was really good, stopping to reassure them he wasn't really a monster after he'd landed and laughing over their obvious fright!

Took the dogs to the Sweeps festival in Rochester last weekend, but they took a dislike to the morris dancers!
