Midwest Reptile Breeders Expo?

SilverWolf

Alpha Wolf
Just wondering if any Kansas City locals would be attending this show? Plus what the likelyhood of corn snakes being available? It's on May 6th. I figured it would be too early for 07 snakes, but maybe left over 06's would be available. Any thoughts?
My bf and I are going and have been looking forward to it for along time. lol He keeps telling me to wait till the show and I'll find some good deals. Of course I think I already have found good deals recently and am now up to 3 corn snakes. :) I think I'm going to have to get my dad to make me some custom tanks to hold all my goodies I'll probably come home with. lol

Thanks!

April

The reptile show is tomorrow! Yeah, I can't wait! I keep telling myself to stay strong and not go crazy buying too much! LOL I'm sure that'll happen, specially since I have some extra money burning a hole in my pocket. :)

I know I'll atleast come home with some frozen mice. Of course I might have to go to a different reptile show they are having the same day in Overland Park, KS just to get them. Rodent Pro will be at that one. Not sure if there will be a seller at the expo or not. Hopefully because if I end up at both shows then that means more than likely more snakes coming home with me.

I'll share pics of any purchases I make, well except for the mice of course. :)

I will be going to both shows probably. I need to pick up an order from Rodent Pro so I must stop by the OP show on my way back from the Airport Hilton show. There is nothing I need or really want for my collection that I can think of right now..but I always enjoy looking!

That is what we all say until we see that one snake or that one deal that we can not pass up. :grin01:

I guess depending on what they have what I'll bring home. My bf really would like to find an adult male Bearded Dragon (preferably a sandfire). And I'll have to watch him if they have any Blue Tongue Skinks as he has two already. lol

But I'll only be bring home corns for now. I would really like to get a female lav or bloodred striped, but like I said, this early in the year not sure how many corns people will have. But I kinda prefer older ones anyways. Baby corns look so tiny to me, I've always been worried about bringing one home.

I'm already going out and buying some extra tubs today just in case.

Dawn, I'd say I'll see you there, but since we wouldn't know what each other looked like, we'd never know. :) I'm hoping it'll be a good show, I've only been to the one in OP and it's been kinda small at times. But the bf says the one by the airport is usually pretty decent. But like you said, it's always fun just to look.

MO show

I went there yesterday. I saw a lavender and a bloodred and so many more! Ahh the corn snakes there were pretty cheap! I wish I could have gotten another....but my mom was being mean. :(

I saw a great looking lavender (probably the same one) and wanted it but it was male. :( I was very tempted to buy the bloodred pair that was het for some other things. They would have been a great pair to have, but I only brought $200 with me and I think they wanted $250 for the pair. Oh well, I did leave with a pretty amel female that I'm hoping is het for bloodred.

I still get shocked at the prices of the bigger snakes. There was one for $4000. It was gorgeous, but WAY too much for my pocket book. :)

corns

Are you talking about the piebald one? That thing was $4500! But he was really pretty. =D I was talking to this one guy who said he would trade me a clutch of eggs from my albino/creamsicle pair if they breed for his 6 year old (or so) male snake...(he was gray in color, I'm not good with all those fancy terms sorry lol)...I'm not sure if that's a good deal or not. It was a really big, nice snake, but he had some 'lumps' towards the end of him that were squishy...I'm new to snakes in general so I wasn't too sure if that was something bad or not.
