Missing Snake

I'm so upset right now and mad at myself. I put my female hatchling in her new Viv, to separate her from the male hatchling on Friday. I left her alone figuring she would be stressed from the move. I noticed Sunday that there really hadn't been any movement, but figured she was just hiding under the reptile bark. Today, I started digging for her and she is no where to be found in the Viv. I thought the top was clamped enough becasue its one of those that have the clamps on the front and screw things in the back, plus it was snug. Obviously I was wrong. : ( I did a search for how to catch them. I'm going to try the pinky in the coke bottle. I'm hoping she will show up looking for food, she last ate on Thursday.

I've search the house but I'm sure she's long gone. I really hope she turns up. I'm worried she might have slipped down the vents in the floor.

So sorry to hear you lost your hatchling.
Dont give up hope of finding it. Hatchlings can curl up so small and hide in tiny places.....
Besides the pinkies in bottles, could you place loads of hides in dark corners?? Heatpad on floor with hide? And a water bowl? Sorry, you probably already have...... :)
Keep us udated and take care.

Thanks! Yes I plan on putting lots of hides around and several bottles with pinkies in them. I have to buy a heat pad though. I will put water around but that will have to be after the dogs are up for the night. They will suck it down.

I will keep you guys updated.

I don't know how your dogs react to snakes, but you might want to watch them. I have 4 dogs (farm dogs) and they point out snakes and then go crazy. If the snake strikes at any of the dogs, they all bite at it and stomp on it to try and kill it. We have lost a lot of good dogs to Rattle Snake bites because of this, but they do help us in decimating the number of rattle snakes in our area. So, if your dogs start to look very interested in one corner or another, you might want to check it out rather quickly.

Good Luck...

Thanks! Paul that is a good idea. If my guys saw something they would definately try to see what it was or is.
