Hi Folks: I have a beautiful albino corn snake who could be around 12 years old and is 5 feet long. He is the sweetest guy and he lives here with me at school. In the past week every time someone picks him up he regurgitates. I has me very worried as he usually loves being held. His throat looks swollen when you pick him up. Please help with advice, any knowledge of similar situations. Thank you.

How long after feeding is he held?
Any mucus, nasal discharge, open-mouthed breathing, constantly raised head?
Does he regurge even when he hasn't been fed for several days?

I fed him on Saturday and brought him back to school on Tuesday, and he did not regurgitate on my or during the trip (in my arms). He did however, regurgitate Tuesday and Wednesday when a student held him. He is not throwing up his meal, and he pooped normally last night. He is regurgitating mucousy liquid (almost gel like) that is clear-ish but has a slight pink tint to it. Thanks for any information anyone has... we are all worried about him!

Those are hard to find here in Vermont... believe it or not, we have vets for all kinds of things, but not reptile specific vets. I will try to find one. Thanks for the advice.

Unfortunately, when there is a pink tink in anything coming out of a body (of any animal), it usually means there is blood... which doesn't sound good. I'd also advise seeing a vet :( it might be nothing huge, but you never know. I'm sorry to hear about your snake, and I really do hope for the best!!
