Some corns are apparently "allergic" to plastic dog dish hides, and patches of scales turn white, but turn back when the hide is removed. Do you have one of those?
 
i think susan was asking for pictures of the white spots on your snake, so we can see them and get a better idea of what were looking at. Nice research on mites though :)
