Prolly hypo, maybe ultramel?

Didn't you say you weren't going to purchase from petsmart or petco or anywhere like that again?

I would look for digital kitchen gram scales either on ebay or at walmart if you can't order online. I got mine for around $10.

The Munson plan? Is that what your talking about? It's a good guide, but I don't follow it 100% because I feel it's a little heavy.

You really should have researched before you got this little one again.

You just brought this new one home recently. So you have a week to buy a scale. It doesn't matter when the store fed that little one last, you want to put it in it's home and leave it alone for 7 days, the only thing you want/need to do is check/change water. A healthy snake, even a baby, can go weeks without eating. I'm sure it's a hatchling or hatchling sized since it came from a BBS & will most likely still be on pinkies.

The Munson plan. It is a guideline for prey size vs snake size.

-Single pinks (2-3g), every 4-5 days. (Snake = 4-15g)
-Double pinks (3g x 2) every 4-5 days. (Snake = 16-23g)
-Small fuzzies (5-7g) every 5-6 days. (Snake = 24-30g)
-Regular fuzzies (7-9g) every 5-6 days (Snake = 30-50g)
-Hoppers (9-12g) every 5-6 days (Snake = 51-90g)
-Weaned (14-20g) every 7 days (Snake = 91-170g)
-Adult (24-30g) every 7-x days (Snake = 170+)
-Jumbo Adults (40-50g) every 7-x days (Snake = 400g+)

Note: Adult females are fed more frequently than adult males (especially following brumation). Females are fed every 6-8 days; males are fed every 7-14 days.

This is by no means scientific, and not all corns will cooperate 100% with the schedule. The weight ranges given for the prey and snakes are approximate.

I just brought her home yesterday and put her straight into her tank she laid around for a while behind some fake plants i put in and then she burrowed under the aspen and i haven't seen her since, should i worry or is this just part of her adjusting to her new habitat?

I understand what you mean, but corns can live for 20+ years. You have lots of time to watch and enjoy her, let her have this bit of time to herself.

I wouldn't really say it's terrible, it's not ideal though. Corn snakes are crepuscular, they are most active in the early morning and the late evening. They don't really come out during the daytime to bask like some other reptiles do. They get their heat from laying on top of rocks or other surfaces that heat up during the day. A UTH with a thermostat closely mimics how they get their heat in the wild, from the bottom. Does that make sense?

Since you have the light now just make sure you have a digital thermometer monitoring the temps inside the tank. You may need to raise or lower the light to get the proper temp. Also make sure there is a cool side, sometimes a light will heat the whole tank instead of just half.

Try to save up for an UTH and a thermostat so you can ditch the light.

She's just a plain hypo because everytime I type it in on google they only have like hypo with something else, I wanna see what she will look like as an adult
