Moses eating "Dinner"

I gave in and fed him "Dinner". I don't see a "bump" in his stomach...thinking I might end up feeding him "Dessert" as well. Just seems like a lot of food!

nice amel as to the hole lump thing some adults are capabel of eating 2-3 adult mice maybe even 2-3 jumbo mice but it all takes a little trial and error to see what the snake is capable of handeling.

Yah, you're not going to notice 'lumps' in adult snakes. I feed my adult males small rats occasionally and those don't even leave much of a lump.

Regardless, one mouse a week is plenty for adult males.

I agree. I have a male charcoal mot that has to be pushing 8 years and 61 inches. He'll take sometimes a small med rat and its hard to see the bulge.

Thanks!

Ooh Thanks! The guy I got him from was only feeding him two mice every three weeks. And this guys 8 as well. So I should be feeding him small rats instead? or just a larger quantity of mice? I hate to sound stupid but I'd rather know than be ignorant...what does snake poop look like? Someone said that regurge is black and really smelly..but I don't know what the poop looks like..My snake ate 2 days ago and theres white spots in the tank today and a little black mushy mouse. That sound normal? I'm trying to utilize the search bar as much as possible but there are A LOT of posts, so sorry if this question has been answered and I'm re-asking. Thanks so much =)

divergentdamsel, Joe is right 1 mouse per week is enough for an adult male... But that is kind of from a breeding stand point. Most breeders give a little extra care to there females. But if it is a pet and you want to give it the care and attention that you would give a dog or cat i would recommend at least 2 mice per feeding, a little more work for you is equal to a much happier snake. IMO

Thanks for your input, I'll probably do that then. Do you think I should feed him 2 mice a week even though he was being fed every three?

Billybobob, the adults corns don't NEED more than one adult mouse per week, it is not a question of health or extra care. And I don't think the snake will be happier with 2 mice IMO. She don't want to have a fat snake either right?

breedingcolors, adult corns can live off of 1 mouce a month if they are kept at room temp but it dosent make it right to do so. i have seen snakes kept this way by people and i'll tell you these snakes normaly are alot less heathy than snakes fed more. if you keep your snakes on some sort of heat there matabalisum speeds up (cold blooded) so they will need more food but i am sure you know that. ask most breeders if they feed there adult females only one mouse a week, preety sure they feed at least 2 per week. i knew a guy who would feed his females 3-4 mice every 8 dayes during breeding seoson, some of the healthyest snakes i have ever seen, even right after laying. it realy all depends on your setup. i realy think that the snake reciveing more nutrition is normaly a happyer and healthyer snake. Also it is realy hard to get a snake fat i know that it can hapen but it is hard. the only fat corn i have ever seen was a 4 year old okeetee that was fed snake sauseges for about a 2 and a half year, the owner didn't like feeding mice.

i wouldn't make an immediate jump up to 2 per week but i would start off by going to 1 per week for a month or 2 then go up to 2 one week 1 the next alternating for about another month then go to 2 per week. You have got to give your snake time to adjust to the higher volume of food. as for your regurge ? i have always thought of snake poop looking like bird poop only larger, and if you can still recognize the mouse it is probably regurge.

Hm..

Well Uh..it wasn't quite "recognizeable" per say..just a little black ballish looking thing..but yesterday I noticed that he did poop...It was quite obvious..and then I went to give him a soak in the tub and he pooped in that! lol.
