Ok I put a hide with moss in it.I was wondering if there was any chance of mold growing in it.how long should I keep it in the viv?
I introduced my snake to it he seems to like it so far.:D

After mine had shed they both seemed to like to stay in the moist hide for a day or so. I think I saw in a post here that that was normal behavior. Also, my moist hide was at the warm end of the viv, so I did have to redampen it. There was no mold or mildew, but then we live in a pretty dry climate here.

If you bought the moss from a garden centre then there *shouldn't* be any mould growth as the moss will be free from algal/fungi spores. If you took the stuff from the wild then definately give it a blast in the microwave. This will kill any unwanted beasties, eggs etc and prevent mould growth. I have used both bought reindeer moss and picked sphagnum which I microwaved. Both were fine, I threw then out and replaced them when it started to look tatty.
