Motley finally ate a pinky!

Motley finally ate a pinky after I placed some thawed anole skin around it and moved it a bit with some tongs. He casually slid over and took it down without any fuss. The anole skin even slid off. I hope he continues to eat. BTW, he has eaten some very large pinkys (almost fuzzy size) back in August. Now his pinks are more normal size. He is around a foot long. Should I try a fuzzy or two pinkys??

Congrats! Based on my vast amount of non-existant experience (yeah, totally grasping at straws here)... I'd recommend you try to get a weight on Motley and then base the feeding on the Munson plan after that. You're probably better off feeding smaller meals more frequently, but that's just a WAG on my part.

According to my little kitchen scale he weighs 2.9 OZ (but he ate yesterday so I don't know the weight in grams.

Whoops! Make that .50 oz which equals: 14.75 grams. Is that right for a snake that is five months old (approx?)

he is a little small but that is not surpriseing with all the trouble you have had with him. :) If he were mine and he had just began eating on his own... dont fix what isnt broke :) I would try the small prey items but offered every 4-5 days til he gets some weight on and has more willing feedings under his belt. :) Glad he finally ate a pinky for you :)
