Mountain Trip (no reptile pics)

Camby

He will join us or die
Just wanted to share a few pics. For Father's Day, my Dad, Son and I went to the land he (dad) owns in the Black Mountain Range of North Carolina. He owns land on both sides of the creek so we control the family swimming hole. These are pics of that spot on Cattail Creek. It was raining hard so the water is a little disturbed, normally it is crystal clear. During the middle of the summer, the water never reaches above 65 degrees. My son braved the swimming hole for a bit this day even though the air temp was 63 degrees.

The one from above shows the swimming hole, it is large than it appears. Approximately 8 feet deep so you can dive from the rocks and about 25 diameter. The one with the house in the back ground, I took that one standing in the creek on the road you have to drive to get there. You drive through about 1-2 feet of water across the creek, no bridge.

More pics

A few more pics. Andrew (son) made me take one of him under water to prove he went under in the cold water. The water temp couldn't have been above 55 degrees. Left side of pic 3, if you look hard enough, you can see a small salamander (?). Last pic is Dad standing at the edge of the road crossing the creek to the house.

Not the best quality pics but you get the idea. It was a great place to spend as a child, especially during the summer. Just glad my sons and daughter have experienced it with my Dad also.
