Mouse Housing question

Hey guys to keep just a few mice in do you think this is too small? I have a 10 gallon aquarium but really dont feel like setting that up. I am also drilling more holes into the container tomorrow. I have seen this bins some people use and they arent that big at all but I just wanted some feedback.....PS those are only a quarter of my nursing books:smash:

Not enough ventilation! I was using large tubs like that and found that condensation built up straight away. I cut out the middle section of each lid and fixed a wire mesh insert there to prevent escapes.

Alot more is going to be drilled but I am not sure about the wire mess yet. I may just end up using the tank. I am just wondering about the size

yes I agree I also have my weaned babies in a house similar to that but have also put a big hole in the top and put wire on instead otherwise you get a lot of condensation and not enough air flow to stop the smell as well.

It isnt that big for mice if you are going to keep the mums with the babes as well in it, I would say prob about 3 mice in there.

I have 21 tubes going for fancy mice white lab mice and ASF rats and I have all the tops of mine cut out the condensation build up gets bad and it adds to the urine odor here are a few pics so you can get an idea.

For that size, if it's shoebox size, no more than 1.2.

You are going to have problems with the air holes. Those holes are a perfect starting point for a mouse to quickly chew a nice big escape hole.

If you must use the sterilite, go with the cut out section on the lid. Still watch for holes being chewed by any ridges or indentations where they can get their teeth into it.
