Mouse Size?

Need more Corns
I need a bit of help regarding what size mouse to feed one of my snakes. She is around 260g and has been having large mice(20-22g) for around 3/4 months/. I went to the pet shop to see if they had adult mice i.e around 30g, but the next size up from the large was Jumbo's, so i bought a few and when i got home, weighed them and they were 40-44g. I checked the munson plan and now i am unsure of what to do. Should i keep giving her 1 large mouse every week or start giving her the jumbo mice but give her one every 2 weeks. She is big enough to eat the jumbo i.e with in the 1.5x girth. Any help or advice would be great.

I would say feed her the jumbos since you have them but once you have used them up change back to regular large mice. A 260 gram snake is not that large, a 25g adult mouse should be about right once a week.

I agree, my almost 400 gram Amel gets one 23-28 gram adult mouse each week. Once he hits 400 grams he'll get the adult mouse every 10 days. I don't think I will switch to jumbos, they are pretty big.

Ok thanks for that. What weight would you suggest is suitabl;e for jumbos, bearing in mind i cant get adult mice

Jumbo mice are usually retired breeders. They are usually fat and not in the best of health. I would not suggest using jumbos at all. When your snakes gets to be 400 grams plus you might kick it up to two adult mice every 10 days or so. When a snake is old enough to be that big you need to be careful that your snake doesn't get overweight.
