Moving by car and rented van

Moving from Utah to Texas.
Will be putting each snake in a separate snake bags inside cheap styrofoam containers. Will wrap ice pack used for shipping with a kitchen towel and put it in shipping container not in bag with snake. They will be going with us in back seat of car. I would worry if they were in moving van.

Trip route Salt Lake City, Utah --Laramie, Wyoming --Denver, Colorado then final stop Keller, Texas.

Will be making motel stops at motel 6 with 2 cats and 13 snakes.
How long can they stay in bags without water. After first 24 hours of trip. Was thinking of using freezer zip lock bags and put ice cubes in container like above.

Do I need to worry about being stopped for inspection.

All suggestions appreciated. I have only 2 weeks before moving.

Anyone How long can my snakes stay in snake bags before I have to give them some water. Does anyone have a safe idea what to do after 24 hours when the ice packs are no good. Trip will take Us girls about 4 days.

I don't know how longthey can go without water, but at least 24 to maybe 48hrs, as that's how long they go without water whne they're being shipped. Also keep in mind you'll be traveling through warmer weather areas too, so that may affect the timeframe they can go without.

Do you have rubbermaid bins that you can stack inside each other for the trip, while the snakes are in bags, them get them out overnight to give them water?

Maybe you can refil the bags with ice on your stops. Or do you have a small cooler that you can keep a bag of ice in?

You're not crossing any borders (out of the country), & I'm not aware of any of those states restricting cornsnakes, but you should check to make sure.

Can you keep them in the car with you? This way they could be in a/c.

If not, then I would probably do something like you said by putting ice in several zip-log bags (to prevent leaking) and use that as a cold pack. At night they should be OK, in the motel.

And 4 days is a long time without offering water. I'm sure they would be OK, but I would probably take them out of their bag each night and offer them water - better yet if you could bring some small (deli-cup to 12 qt depending on size of snake) and at night put them in a container with a water dish. This way they can settle down a bit and have a drink if they want to.

Good luck with the move! Keller TX is just down the street from me - welcome to Texas!

Thank you for help. I will be stopping at night. And me and my daughter can take a few of them out at a time and give them a little water in separate small containers then put them in bags
