Well since you housed the snakes together for so long, what probably happened was one became the dominate snake and the other was more intimidated by this other snake. Since you have now spli them up into their own cages, the intimidated one isn't intimidated any more so he wants to explore more and look at the new scenery. This is general behavior for when you change enclosures for snakes. Usually they will venture around a good bit and see what all is going on. He might feel more secure now and want to move around even more. I think this is a good thing because now he isn't intimidated and feels free to explore.
