My Amel...

That's some interesting stuff you have there on the bottom of the viv. You might find that using something like Aspen will be easier when he poops and that as far as cleaning goes. Also, it will give him something to burrow in.

Great looking Amel. I have a soft spot for these guys... being an amel is what introduced me to the Corn world... got him as a hatchling he is now 9 months old and I am working on picking up Corn #3! LOL!

Welcome to the addiction!

I´m just testing it... And he didn´t poop there yet... I´m waiting for it to see...
Thanks !!!

your carpet stuff will be a nightmare to clean... and its a breeding ground for harmful bacteria...

like others said, switching to aspen or something similar... much easier to clean and the snake will have fun burrowing :p

lovely beast

I was using only bark ...
So.. it´s better than this carpet!?
Can someone tell me where i can buy Aspen??

Thanks!!!

I know other will agree with me when i say that the heat rock is a big no no when it comes to snakes the rocks heat in a way that can burn your snake and not be a very helpful type of heat for him/her. your better off to go with undertank heat of some sort.

The heat Rock temperature is about 26° - 28° C
I think it is good....

cute snake! I buy aspen bedding at my local pet store or pet co/petsmart type stores. It looks like pine, but it is called Aspen bedding. Some brands call it snake bedding, but it is aspen. same thing. Good luck with your snake!

Its still not a good idea to use them as corns dont typicaly spend their time out in the open on top of rocks especialy when they are digesting which is the time they need the heat the most.

My sunglow actually does lay in the open to digest; on a 'rock' that is set beneath the lamp. It absorbes the warmth of the light and radiates it when the light is out, so this snakey likes laying there in the evening 'after dark' too.

i did say typicaly, its not usual behavior but it would be crazy to think with so many snakes arround there wouldnt be a few that do things differently.

Sorry I'm just coming in on this, and this is a little off topic. Isn't bark hard to clean or expensize. I heard that once the corn poops you need to take it all out and buy another one. I thought the bark was a good idea but buying new bark evry week is too rich for my blood. Is this true? Or is there a way around this? thanks!

(On topic) Looks like my girl when she was that small!
I LOVE IT!

Excellent choice for your first corn (mine was an amel too). I'd listen to these guys on the heat rock topic though, they're a great resource for finding out what will keep your snake healthy and safe.
