my baby blizzard have bad smell ..PLEASE HELP

Could it be that the snake slithered through it's own faeces, before you cleaned it out, and the smell is lingering..... ?

Sounds like either he has poop on his body (which should be visible) or he's musked.

If you need to clean him off, make an old towel (or facecloth, depending on his size) damp with cool/lukewarm water (NOT hot water) and let him slither through it while you hold him.

Is he moving normally? Are there any signs of injury? Did he perhaps crawl through a portion of his last meal and now smells like a rotting dead animal? If he appears healthy and only smells bad, follow Bitsy's suggestions for bathing. If he seems unwell, don't bathe him. Keep him warm and consider a vet visit.

Sounds like musk. Corn musk is revolting. King musk is somewhat pleasant. Bairdi musk is delightful. I'm weird.
You've got to be kidding! My cal king musked me the other day... and PHEW!!! I nearly gagged. LOL.

That being said, corn musk doesn't phase me too much.

I guess to each his own.

You ever figure out what was wrong?

Okay Deano, you're forcing me to reconsider my belief that you have good sense. :poke:

I haven't experienced king musk. Corn snake musk kind of reminds me of the smell of grasshoppers. I won't be dabbing any of it behind my ears, but it doesn't send me retching for the garbage can either. ;) I wouldn't call it "my own" exactly, but it's not the worst animal-related scent I've ever experienced.

To answer the "what's musk?" question, it's a smelly secretion snakes can release from their cloaca. It's a signal they're seriously stressed, and is done in hopes that the stressor will be so disgusted that s/he will go away and leave the poor snakey alone.

To the OP, could we get an update on your snake's situation?
