My Baby's Pics (Opal)

I got her the 21st of July, but haven't taken the time to post pics of her till now.
I got her from Rich, she's an Opal Het Motley ;) And I'm completely in love with her. She's fed well, and has the sweetest temperment. Likes my sweater pockets a lot...

I named her Astra, which wasn't first on my list, but once I called her that it kinda just stuck. I call her 'honey' a lot though

I think she has a neat head pattern.

Het Motley?? Looks like a motley to me. Are you sure Rich didn't slip you something extra? He's been known to do that. I'd love to see a side and ventral pic of that snake.

Beautiful baby! I have an Opal Motley myself. But, His Opal markings are hard to see. He's almost all white now.

Congrats!

Yeah, I noticed that she had quite a pattern. I figured it was due to the het motley and when she shed more and got to adulthood it would fade. Who knows ^^

I'll get some pics of her belly and sides when she finishes digesting. I just fed her again today. Normally she just waits for me to walk away for her to get her mouth on the pinky, but she must have been hungry today, she latched right on to it! I'm proud of her lol.

A ventral pic would seal the deal. Looks like a motley to me. Rich is a super nice guy. But then, most corn snake people are good people. When in doubt, they round up---to "nice".

Yeah same with the rest of the dudes, even for a newbie like me! I would defiantly say thats a motley. Very nice snake though. :)

That last pic shows enough of her belly to seal the deal for me. She's a gorgeous Opal Motley!

Well, here are a couple of other pics. I should be able to get a better belly pic tomorrow. Or, seeing how it's 2am, later today.

The first one gets a little belly.

So, okay.
Stupid Question Incomming: I just thought her pattern was going to fade with sheds and age. In what way would she look different if she was 'het' mot, as opposed to regular motley? The pattern would be less defined?

Thank you all for your input by the way. I'm so glad this site is here, I probably wouldnt have my little baby without it lol.

If she was het Motley, she would have a normal pattern with saddles. Motleys have connected saddles that form those little circles on the back. Motleys also have a clear belly (no checkers). It usually has a Hypo-like effect and makes them a little brighter than their Normal patterned counterparts.

Either way, she is gorgeous!

Maybe I got the genetics wrong but... she could still count as het motley if she's motley/stripe no?

The stripish end made me think so.

It definitely is not het for the "classic" form of the gene though
