Well it's been a while since I've posted here, I came here a while back because she didn't want to eat F/T, but she decided on her own dead mice were ok lol. Anyway shes my big girl (dont know if she's a girl for sure I just call her that) she feed's on 3 full adult mice every 2 weeks. As I understand it she is an amel? Also incase anyone was wondering I've kept her since she was a hatchling to these pictures. And yes, she has been spoiled the entire time ^_^(9/9/08)

I disagree.
If you want to sex by tails you don't necessarily look at the length, but more of how fast it tapers and how thick it is.
I want to say it's a boy from the first picture, but I can't tell without seeing it in real life. If the tail tapers very fast into a thin vertebrae it's probably a female, if the tail does not taper very much until the end it's probably a male. It'll be thicker with all the male parts in there. ;]

Wow, s/he IS big, and gorgeous, too! And can I have your beautiful birch tree? ;)

p.s. do you know that I'm truly an IDIOT for trying to read your shirt?

After the vent her tail is extremely gradual, almost perfectly, so I guess thats hinting its a female. I'm actually going to try and get my father to fund a breeding program so I can get some out-of-text book biology credit... Well that's my excuse anyway.:devil01:

Haha I got that shirt about 6 months ago or so, couldn't pass it up. BTW the birch tree isn't ours :( taken outside my apartment complex.

Correct

I disagree.

You are correct. Although vertebrae don't factor much into the picture of what's going on on the underside. Males are packing a pair of inside-out hemipenes on the inside of their anterior tail, proceeding rearward. Making it very UN-slender. And if anything, after that "thickness" the tail appears to taper rather more abruptly, than a females, to an end.

P.S.

And I meant about sexing snakes. You'll note I tactfully avoided making a call on the snake in the picture.
