so is this a normal cornsnake? throughout the center of its belly it has no checker or black, only on the sides

A normal, het for who knows what ;). Could be het diffuse (bloodred). Got a lot of red, too. I had a pair of het lava pewters a few years ago who's bellies were just like that. Very pretty corn :*)
 
I'm not sure! He seems to have the "red factor," or "redcoat" or whatever you want to call it. His split belly checks might indicate the masque gene as well. Definitely not "just" a normal.
