I went to Daytona on Sunday and picked up this little girl, a now eleven-day old Brazilian Rainbow Boa. I had so much trouble making up my mind. I don't know how you guys came home with so many snakes. I could afford a few snakes, but the tanks/tubs, heating pads, hides, thermostats, etc. are another thing altogether.

It was between a BRB, a honduran milk snake, and a cali king. I had pretty much settled on the honduran, but changed my mind last minute and went with the BRB.

The pictures are pretty weak, as I'm a crappy photographer, but figured I'd share anyway.

I'll try for some better pictures once she's settled in.

Congrats on the BRB, they all looked so cool I don't know how you made up your mind. It's easier to bring home more snakes when you have a snake room that's heated instead of buying individual heat sources, rubbermaid tubs in racks instead of tanks, and dog food bowls that double as hides and water dishes... which in turn gives you more money for awesome snakes, lol.... ;)

The impulse buys are the worst. I would not know how to care properly for something like a BRB without researching first. I know they need very high humidity...but that is about all. I try Very hard to stick to things I know how to care for and have researched even when going to shows for just the reason that is it soooo hard not to walk away with everything! LOL!

awesome snake. i love brbs. i watched my brothers named pele when he was on tour in iraq. i fell in love, but he sold him without giving me a chance or i woulda bought him right up. sold him for 300 with his enclosure. so mad.....

Lol.. Well I try to keep mine at 70%. I have a humid hide for her. Temps should range from 75 to 85.. But no higher than 88 for a long period of time. I've read it could be lethal. I sure as heck am not testing it out with my girl.

As far as bedding. I use Cyprus Mulch, and I have a towel over most of the cage.. only like 2 inches by the width of the tank is uncovered. Which really helps the humidity stay up there. As well as keep heat in the tank during winter times.

Lol.. I figured I'd post this to give ya some ideas! Hope he/she settles in awesome!
