My first real pet is coming soon! :)

Corn snake noob!
Hello everyone!

My name is Victoria and I will be in possession on this little cutie right here:
P1010282.jpg

I got it from Jessicat's first round of breeding, and they're all gorgeous! It's a boy, and I'm going to name him Hakkar (from World of Warcraft, I'm a big nerd I know) I'm sure that with everyone's knowledge and Jessicat's guidance I will be able to provide a great home for him :)

well that is one fine specimen for your first pet!

my boyfriend named our first ball python "Arthas."

welcome to cornsnakes.com, hope you have fun here!

Fantastic! Welcome to the addiction. And don't feel like a nerd, I name all of mine after Star Wars planets...

My Darque is named after my WoW paladin ;) Who was in turn named for my CoH/V character ;)

And very pretty snake :) Good luck with him :)

Thanks everyone :D I don't feel as much of a nerd now :p

This guy will be arriving later this week on Friday, hopefully I can get some pics up of his setup when I get the chance

Does the baby have wings, too?! :dancer:

Cute bugger! I bet you can hardly wait! Welcome to the forum! I'm just here since recently but I've already learned a ton! Enjoy!

Yay, WELCOME!!! I'm so glad you decided to join this site and post!! I'm very glad that Hakkar has gone to a great new home.. and that I'll be able to get updates/ see him whenever I want!

You better make Jacob take lots of pictures of him with his awesome new lens and post them here!!

So glad to see you here!! :dancer:
PS: The snake in my avatar is Hakkar's father!!
PPS: Snakes are addicting, so it might be nice, if you decide to add a second to your collection to have a theme. I really like his new name!! Great choice, I'm sure this cutie has a great future with you and Jacob. I'm so happy.

Ooohhh, I really like that theme! Makes me want to get more snakes so I can give them cool names! As if I needed another reason...

Also, Victoria, I don't think you have to worry about classifying as a nerd with this group. I think the majority of us are the "and proud of it" types. :grin01:

@Jessicat: We will be taking tons of pictures and spoiling this little guy :) I already want another one haha! I've also taken interest in crested geckos, but I shouldn't get too over my head ;)

Here's some updated shots of Hakkar in his current set up! I have a Zoomed mini heating pad on the right side that's connected to a dimmer so I can regulate his cage's temperatures. I also have a infrared temperature gun to check his cage to make sure there aren't any hot/cool spots

I see, I've wondered why some people had those coins under their names :)

Quick update: Hakkar's still a shy guy, but he's really active when we're asleep or gone from the room because when I flipped on the switch from coming home to work he was half in his water bowl and half on his hide staring at me ^___^ but then he got too shy and burrowed into the substrate hehe

I will eventually, he's still getting used to his new space. And since he just ate, I didn't want to bug him too much, but he's so considerate to poop in a corner and not under a hide :p
