My Frog/Reptile Room

I figured I would post some pics up of my frog/reptile room in my basement. I am new to snakes, but I have had reef tanks for four years and I currently have various dart frogs for the past year. After keeping dart frogs I decided I wanted to keep some other herps. Ofcourse, i had to get permission from the wife to keep a snake.

Here are the pics. The room is full insulated, I use an oil filled heater for the winter and fans for the summer.

Awesome tanks! Love your little leucs :) Is that a mint terribilis I spy in the first pic of your second post?

Love it! Part of the reason I love the frogs is the natural cages you folks build for them. Just what I like for my snakes!

Very nice looking! I love the idea of having a room for my herps but I can't do it. I need to have them in my bed, living, office and any other room I can fit a tank in... lol I love to look at them so much that I would end up living in my reptile room if I had one. I am actually looking into a small tank set up to keep a type of frog in my bathroom..lol

Yes it is, one of two juvs I got two months ago. They are coloring up nicely.

Thanks, that is one of the fun parts in building the vivs.

I understand, this room is in my basement which I am finishing off with a "Man Cave."

Awww, LOVE IT! I have those same shelves for my tanks :) Before I got into reptiles I was a bonafide frog addict, always bringing home new ones. Yours are gorgeous!

Tks.

That is awesome! I wish we had basements around here.

Are frogs easy to care for?

Yup, not hard at all. Just do some research into their care. biggest thing is culturing Fruit Flies for them, but once you get that down it's easy.

Love the darts! I was looking at getting some azureus a couple years ago, but put that on hold (which I'm glad of now since my life is hectic and moving around a lot). Someday I might look into it again.

Welcome to the snake world!

Are those regular tanks turned on their side? The remind me of computer towers lol and at first that's what I thought they were. I was like "can you modify old computer towers to house critters?".

Little update, my E. anthonyi zarayunga produced their first eggs and tadpoles. I caught my male transporting them on his back.
