My High Pink Translucent Male Veiled Chameleon

*salAMANDA88*

MoxieMakes MainersMighty
This is my New little buddy..He still does not have a name. I bought him at the Manchester NH expo a few weeks back..
He is a High pink Translucent Veiled Chameleon. He was a bit skinny when I first bought him, But he is now putting on some weight and starting to look really good. He has a great attitude and loves to come out and see me.

He loves his Criskets, wax worms, and his chopped up salad of greens and topped with a few tiny diced grapes.
He is a spoiled little man...........and thats how it should be.

..............

What a pretty pretty boy, I am jealous.

Chameleons, the one reptile I love as much, if not more than corns.

OMG. LOL. He is great Amanda. So are the pics.

He looks kind of mean. Is he nice?

<-------(I can almost look straight up...LOL.)

He's so gorgeous! Did he cost a fortune? Too bad they only live two seconds...I didn't know they ate salad! That really surprises me.

You've put pink socks on him! What a lovely cham!

haha..Thank you very much!! I love his pink socks!!..

As far as lizards go. Cham's are my #1 Pick...He is a very pretty boy..and I think he kinda knows it ;)

He is VERY nice..he will let you know when he has had enough though. First he will swell up and try and deter you from doing, whatever it is that you are doing...then he'll open his mouth..and if that doesn't work..he'll make this hissing sound..but I haven't been bit yet..and don't think he will actually go through with his threats.
Thank you for the nice comments..

Thank you NANCI!!

He did cost a pretty penny..But I fully expected to pay for a good animal like this..I didn't pay much for my last Cham and he didn't last very long....
I paid $200 for him..but oddly enough the female with him, who was also a translucent was only $150...weird. Usually females are more..

Nanci. I'm not sure about other species..But I know this one does. They are omnivorous....In the wild..when there is lack of water and bugs they will eat Plant matter....its a good idea to include it in their diet. Eventhough Veileds are pretty hardy chameleons..they still can not stand much neglect and nutrient rich food is a must....I like to give him his options..
I water him via drip system..But Don't like to let it drip when I'm not home..so I mist his plants and give him fresh salad every day..and he LOVES it!!
....I really hope I have him for a long time....(But I will not be surprised if he doesn't last more than 5yrs...sadly.)

How cool!! I didn't know they came in that color.

haha.neither did I 'till I saw him..I knew I had to have him..Besides he was the healthiest Veiled I saw. Thank you.

That is completely unusual! Beautiful animal.

Thank you very, very much!..

Thank you guys for posting your nice comments..I was happy to share him with you all..But wanted to make sure he was settled in and eating right before I posted pics. Like I said..He hates the camera..so I try not to shove it in his face much...as hard as that is, because he is very beautiful..

Thanks again for looking!!

You know, now that I think about it, I think I remember my daughter saying hers would take bites of the plants in her viv. So she had to be super careful about what plants went in there.

There are _really_ cool chams in that DVD that Kathy sells. Can't think of the name of it...Reptilmania!

haha..Yeah. He tried to eat his fake plants at first..even though he wouldn't get any when he'd bite it..he'd still chomp and chew like he has something in his mouth..LOL..it was funny..but he now has his own salad..He has a live plant too..but doesn't touch it as long as he has greens in his dish.
.....I'll ahve to check out that DVD sometime.

Your nail polish matches your chameleon!
He and his enclosure are beautiful. He must be loving it.

...haha..Green is my fave' color!!
Thank you very much..he does love it..or so I think..He is always bright and happy..he only gets mad when he can see the camera..or my cat..hahaha!!

Thanks for looking

Stephen,
Thats really cool that you've bred them before..haha..so when I get a female and have any questions..would it be okay to shoot you a PM?.
.......I more than likely will not be breeding him this year...
But when the time comes..waiting for the eggs to hatch will be well worth it.

Thank you very much!! I love him!!

Sure

Feel free to ask any questions, they have like 50 eggs the size of jelly beans each time they lay. I had 100 eggs hatch within 24 hours!
