TOAD!:)

Desert Horned Toad/Lizard to be more precise.
I believe he is the Northern Desert Horned Toad/Lizard (Phrynosoma platyrhinos platyrhinos) rather than the Southern (Phrynosoma platyrhinos calidiarum).

The pics are not the greatest, that I have ever taken, and they do not show all of his coloring the best (nor was he being very active LoL).
However, I wanted to share this cute little bugger with everyone.

He is about a year old and a great little fella.
Loves his food and goes after his ants with gusto ... although sometimes he'll wait for them to come to him & within reaching range.
To go under sand, Horned Lizards will do a side to side wiggle. Of course, he will do this and it looks really cute as he does it.
Never really named him but we refer to him as "Flap Jack" due to his body being relatively flat (like a puffy Pancake).LoL

Anyway, here he is ....

Thanks.:)
I have always loved Horned Toads but never thought I would own one due to their specific requirements. However, when I laid eyes on this little guy (when a friend had brought him, to a show, to sell), it was love at first sight and I "knew" he had to come home with me.:D
As it turned out, his care is not that difficult at all. Especially since ants are available, for purchase, nowadays.

Waffles ... I like that! Mentioned it, to the hubby, and he likes it too.
Maybe my little guy will, finally, have an official name.:)
