My little corn shocked me today.

I went on a vacation and he hasn't been held in about a month because of it, but he was fed on his normal routine. He is also not shedding, nor is he preparing to. I used to hold him everyday up until the vacation. Now when I try to slide my hand under him to pick him up, he freaks; if I just put my hand in his cage he comes up to me and lets me hold him. Isn't that a little odd? He's only a juvenile so I am not worried about a bite but I am just curious about this. I want to be able to pick him up normally again.
