My Little Isha!

Isha's growing so fast! I've only had him for a month and he's growing so fast!

Pardon the picture quality (or lack thereof). Isha's very active and it's hard to get a good shot of him!

Great choice on an Amel, too.

gender

I wish I knew Isha's true gender. I refer to him as he mostly but sometimes she slips out. Does anyone know when a good age for popping/probing would be? I've been warned that it's dangerous for hatchlings. I'd have my rep vet do it.

Oops! My fault. I totally thought that post said 'she'. I edited my previous for clarification. :)

He/She is gorgeous. How old is your new baby ?

Isha's probably about a month and a half. I think he had his first shed with me, but I'm not certain. I got him at a generic pet store, so they didn't have very many details. But he's definitely a hatchling. I just wish I knew his real gender! lol oh well. When he gets bigger maybe I'll take some tail shots and ask the forum.

GORGEOUS little corn!

Hatchlings can be safely popped without any problems if done by someone who knows how. Try finding a breeder or experience snake keeper in your area. I am sure they will be able to assist you. Tail shots are not always accurate, I have a male that looks like a female! lol

Another way you might be able to see if if your snake is still young and you hold it up to the light, you might be able to see red lines under the skin on the tail after the cloaca, if you can see this, it's a male, if not, it's most likely a female...Maybe give this a try. :santa:
