My mom's turtles died =(

I don't know what happened she is so sad because she helped them grow up after they were sick and they were perfectly healthy, she always put them in the sun for a while and for all of sudden they died, I think it's because they were for too long in the sun but she always did that, I was making some research and I read that sun can kill them quickly if they stay for too long, is that what happened? She is devastated because she knows it was her fault leaving them in the sun for that long... they were like 2 hours in the sun.

I'm sorry to say that's probably what happened. They can't be left in the sun without any way to get to shade. They don't have a way of cooling off. When it's 90F here, air temp, the ground temp is 120 or more...I'm sorry.

I'm very sorry to hear your mom lost her turtles. It's aslway harder when you don't know why they died. I have lost quite a few in the past 3 years, but I knew why they died they were all rescues and were extremely ill.

Myself and others may be able to help you figure out what may of happened if you can provide a little info on them.

What kind of turtles were they?
How where they housed when they were inside and outside?
What were they fed?
