My New Abbott Okeetee Came today

After seeing some pics of Abbott Okeetees on another site I had to get one! It came today via UPS. It's been a long day waiting for him to come in! Put him in his cage and he went right for the water :p.

And my god, he already looks amazing (pic quality best I could take):

He's friendly too, very social! Immediately came out and started exploring.

I got him from a local herp shop, The Pet Zone in Pittston, PA. He was hatched in late 2009.

I'm going to let him get used to his new home!

Have a good day everyone :)

He's a beautiful little snake, and I hate to be a killjoy but I'm not really sure that is an Abbott's Okeetee. He looks actually rather like a classic.

but I'm not really sure that is an Abbott's Okeetee.

I agree. It is a very nice corn but it lacks the Abbott outlooks.

In Abbotts the rings go around the saddles where in most classic corns they do not. Here is my Abbott male.

Here are some pics from him as a youngster for reference..

Glad someone said something. If you got him from a local Pet Store the chances of him being from Abbott's line seem kind of slim. Also, he phenotypically doesn't really match the criteria.
The Abbott's label was probably either a marketing ploy, or more likely.. because the store owner didn't know any better.

Nice Classic though! I'm sure he'll color up for ya and go through some interesting changes.

Whatever line he is, I think he's adorable! :) If he is in fact a classic, I hope you still decide to keep him... my classic is one of the prettiest in my collection, and a sweetheart to boot.

I see what you're saying, but yeah, he's still great looking! I'd never get rid of him. I didn't pay anymore for him than a typical classic would have cost, though its odd that they'd mislabel him... I'm not upset about it, I have this great looking Okeetee I can't take my eyes off :p.

Nice snake indeed, congrats! If you want a true Abbott's at some point you can go right to the source, Lee Abbott himself. http://www.leesokeetees.com/ I'm planning on getting one this summer.

Yeah, if you remember let me know when they're available. I'll probably pick a pair up if possible!

In my opinion normals are the prettiest of the corn snakes and your snake is very pretty snake!

Thanks! And I agree, I love the normals, I have two Normal Corns and a Normal Boa, all as pretty as can be. (They're all pictured under my profile albums :) ).

And again, thanks for all the comments and helpful posts! I'm a bit new here and so far this has been a great community :D.
