sooo- new corn, around 3 months old, brought him home, been eating fine, median temp of 80, lots of hides- has been low stress ( only taken out a couple times since ive had him almost 3 weeks)- tonight, i was checking on him, since he wasnt exploreing, and looks like hes going to shed ( only his eyes are milky though last couple of days).
i was holding him, he was flicking his tounge, and then he pooped all over me, the chair AND the floor- it was very liquidy, no real solid parts, but the color was fine, but smelly. he didnt seem stressed, and when he pooed, it looked like his vent distended a little, but went back in. i put him back in his tank- this was 15 minutes ago- is this normal? i know snakes will defensively poo, but he seemed fine-perhaps just upset he cant see well?
any feedback is welcome- new snake mommy :)

Ahh, welcome to the club! Maize, my motley, did it the first time I held him... and Dizz, my 2 year old I rescued about 2 months ago has gotten me twice in the past few weeks... isn't it just lovely? :)

Looks like bird droppings? All sounds normal to me!

The trick is not to put them down immediately they poop on you, otherwise they'll get into the habit whenever they want to be put down. There are parts of the relationship that have to be done on your terms and they need to understand that being picked up is a safe thing.

figured as much- just wasnt sure if i made him stressed- i did hold him for a few minutes, then had my hubby hold him for a few while i cleaned up and then put him back in the tank- thanks for all the info guys and entertaining my worries- i know im novice ;)

Yeah thats normal, also I would not handle them when they are full blue and can not see it can stress them out a lot. Just wait a day or two for the eyes to clear again ;)

now hes haveing difficulty shedding- little strips and pieces, so i took him out and helped him soak in my hands- he calmed right down and seemed much happier- i have a large enough water dish, plenty of things to rub on, and the humidity is about 50%. but he did get the caps off his eyes, so he was able to see better.
